August Goals!

calligraphy, hand lettering, handwriting

I'm trying really hard not to write an introduction that bemoans how quick the passing of time is but I'm finding it difficult. I can't believe I'm writing my goals for August already. It seems like only yesterday that I was writing my New Year's Resolutions, and now we're only a few months away from Christmas, and 2018. Whuut?! Anyway, silly old me forgot to write my July goals down in my planner and only thought about them when I started writing this post. So I'll be amazed if I've managed to tick off even one of last month's goals. But let's see, shall we?

1. Keep a gratitude journal. Pfft. That didn't happen.

2. Save £100. Another big fat NOPE. The end of July was super expensive, and I actually ended up dipping into my overdraft. So the money I was planning to save from my July pay cheque went to paying off my overdraft, instead!

3. Pay £100 off my credit card.  Woohoo, I actually surpassed this. I paid off almost £200, and  I'm glad to finally be making a dent in my credit card debt.

4. Choose, and send out, wedding invitations. Finally, we freakin' did it! It was hard, and we almost came to blows over the invites a few times, but we got there in the end. Everyone has their invitations now, and I'm just waiting on RSVP's!

5. Finalise my hen do.  Another one done! Only a week to go until my first hen do; a fun day out in Bristol with my bridesmaids!

Well, three out of five isn't bad. Especially considering I didn't even check in with them all month! I'm pleased, anyway. And now, onto August's goals!

1. Get back into a daily skincare routine. In the run-up to our wedding, this is even more important than ever. I want spot free, unblemished, glowing skin on our wedding day. Is that too much to ask?!

2. Save £100. I'm carrying this one over from last month because it's really important to me that I start building up my savings. Especially having learnt how expensive cars can be over the last year or so!

3. Take 10 minutes a day to meditate. I'm going to use a mixture of the Calm app and YouTube videos to achieve this goal. Meditating helps me feel so much calmer, so I want to make more time for it this month!

4. Drink 5 glasses of water a day. This goes hand-in-hand with the daily skincare routine goal. In order to have lovely, glowing skin, I need to keep my body hydrated!

5. Read, at least, a chapter of my book before bed every night. I started doing this, earlier in the year, and found it really helped me to switch off. Since I'm having trouble sleeping, again, I've decided to get back into this habit to, hopefully, help me sleep better!

Wish me luck!
