Let's face it, bathrooms have a tendency to get a bit cluttered. Bottles and containers dominating every available surface, various shampoos, conditioners, face creams, moisturisers, hair products, toothpastes, the list could go on and on.
That clutter can make a bathroom seem messier and smaller
than it actually is. Bathroom furnishing expert Pebble Grey* explains how you can
eliminate clutter and make your bathroom into a much more relaxing and
enjoyable space.
Maximising space
Making the most of the space in your bathroom can help you
to eliminate clutter and reintroduce stylish touches that can transform a
bathroom from something that is purely functional into a room that is much
easier to enjoy and relax in.
When it comes to bathroom clutter you need to be brutal. If
there’s a part of a Christmas gift set that you know you’ll never use get rid
of it. The same goes for anything you bought and don’t use. Bathrooms are
notorious for hoarding bottles and containers that you might no longer need.
Following a clean out you can look at your storage, do you
have shelves or a bathroom cabinet? The key to your storage is keep it
organised, if everything has a dedicated place you can eliminate clutter.
This not only keeps your bathroom tidier, but it also frees
up ledges and surfaces, making a room seem much bigger than normal. Making a
room feel less cluttered and oppressive is a key way to make a room seem
larger, airier and more relaxing.
Relaxation mode
Shifting from a purely functional bathroom to one that can
be used for relaxation doesn’t happen when you simply tidy up.
You need to make changes and add accessories to a bathroom
that can help you to relax and unwind.
A Bluetooth speaker, either on its own or built into a
mirror can provide access to music. Helping you to chill out however you like,
either with some relaxing ambient music or belting out cheesy pop music in the
shower.
An illuminated mirror can provide softer light in a
bathroom, normally designed to help with makeup or shaving, it could be used to
provide a light source that isn’t as stark as a typical bathroom light.
This could mean the bathroom is a bit more sedate in the way
it is lit, coupled with music, and a nice bath bomb this could really help make
a bathroom a superb place to soak and unwind after a hard day.
A bathroom should be somewhere where you can unwind after a
long day and recharge. Through some simple accessories and taking the time to
declutter and organise you can quickly and easily create your own little
sanctuary to help you rest and recover from whatever life throws at you.
