2018 Resolutions!

Happy new year, guys! I can't believe I'm writing this post, to be honest. It feels like just yesterday we were welcoming in 2017; naively thinking it could only get better. Let's be honest, 2017 was a real shit-storm, wasn't it? I'm really hoping 2018 is miles better. Well, it can't get much worse, right?! As I, and many others, do at this time of year, I've set myself some resolutions to work on in 2018. Here are those resolutions!

1. Lose three stone. In the past, I think I've been overly optimistic about how much weight I can realistically lose in a year. I'm starting on the Keto diet in January, and getting back to swimming once a week, so I'm hoping I can drop, at least, three stone this year! This is the start of a healthier, happier me.

2. Read 150 books. Now who's not being realistic, at all? I may be reaching a bit high with this goal, but as I surpassed my 2017 Goodreads Reading Challenge of 110 books (I ended the year on 123 books read) I've decided to aim even higher in 2018 with a goal of 150 books.

3. Save £1000. I'd like to be in a position where I've paid off all my credit card debt, and have £5000 saved. This would stand me in good stead for car repairs, tech purchases etc etc. At the
moment? I have a grand total of £100 saved...but, if I can save at least £100 every month, as well as paying off my credit card, I'll be on target to have saved £1000 by the end of the year!

I like to set myself three personal goals every year, as I think it's important not to put too much pressure on yourself. There's already so much external pressure, let's not beat ourselves up too much! The most important things I want to work on in 2018 are my physical and mental health, as well as trying to sort out my finances, and that's what my resolutions are all about. Now for my blogging resolutions!

1. Move from Blogger to Wordpress. I need to fully look into the costings, and decide when I want to go ahead with the switch, but I'm already in talks with someone who is going to move my blog over so watch this space!

2. Meet another blogging friend IRL. This year, I got to meet the lovely Steph. In 2018, I'd love to meet Llinos, and maybe Justine. There are so  many others I would love to meet, but distance is always an issue :(

3. Reach 5K followers on Twitter. My Twitter growth has been phenomenal (by my standards) this year, and I hope to see it continue to grow in 2018.

4. Reach 360 followers on Bloglovin'. With all the Bloglovin' drama this year, my growth has stalled somewhat. Given that I'm currently at just over 200 followers, I'm being realistic with this goal!

5. Reach 2K followers on Instagram. Ah, Instagram. The bane of my life. I know I'm not the only one to be struggling with growth on Instagram! It's disappointing that, earlier this year, I was so, so close to 2K on IG, but then overnight lost about 800 followers! I'm hoping to finally reach 2K in 2018!

6. Reach 250 likes on Facebook. Facebook's a slow grower, isn't it? It's growing though, so hopefully it will continue to in 2018.

7. Grow my Pinterest profile. I am hopeless with Pinterest. It's all or nothing ,with me. But this year I want to change that, and make more of an effort with my Pinterest profile!

8. Value myself and my blog more. This might seem a bit vague, so let me explain. I feel like I undervalued myself and my blog in 2017. I put a lot of work into this corner of the internet, and I think I forget how much work I put in. Especially when it comes to quoting PR's for sponsored content. This year, I want to make time to recognise my achievements with my blog, and place more of a value on myself and my blog when approached by PR's.

9. Work with ten new to my blog brands/companies. I was lucky to work with some amazing, new to my blog brands/companies in 2017. I hope to continue this into 2018.

10. Relaunch my newsletter. 2016 saw me launch a newsletter. 2017 saw me promptly forget all about it. 2018 will, hopefully, see me relaunch my newsletter; bigger, and better than ever.

Well, I'm certainly going to be kept busy this year. Wish me luck!
