Free Weekend? Why Not Pamper Yourself With These Fun Ideas*

*This is a collaborative post*

We all experience it at some point in our lives. We’ll have a free weekend with no plans, or we’ll have a holiday that we completely forgot about that extends our weekend and we neglected to make plans for it. As a result, we’ll be sitting at home watching television, browsing the internet or lounging around with nothing to do.

Instead of lazing about and with nothing to do, why not pamper yourself? It’s a great way to boost your motivation and confidence, and you can prepare yourself for the upcoming work week by indulging yourself in a relaxing weekend. It’s the perfect way to wipe away stress and give yourself a positive outlook on the next week, and you’ll feel great about yourself in the process. Without further ado, here are a few fun ideas to pamper yourself.

Get your nails done

If you want to pamper yourself, then why not go and get a pedicure and manicure? It’s a fantastic way to look after your nails that are probably tired and worn out from your stressful work week. Instead of doing them yourself, why not visit YOUR nail salon and get them done by a professional? Not only is it relaxing and accident-free, it’s cost-effective and you’ll leave the salon feeling wonderful.

Get some well-deserved rest

Do you get less than 8 hours of sleep a day during the week? Then that’s a good enough reason to lay in bed for a little longer during the weekend. Humans typically spend a third of their entire life sleeping, but there are times when a busy working week and responsibilities strip that away from us. The weekend is the perfect time to catch some more sleep and since you have no real obligations with a free weekend, you can afford to laze in as much as you want. However, it’s a good idea not to spend the entire day sleeping because you might feel like you’ve wasted a lot of time! Watch television in bed, browse the internet on your smartphone, or invite your pet onto the bed and give them a snuggle while you lounge and enjoy the weekend in peace.

Relaxing weekend breaks

If your work week was extremely tiring, then you need a weekend break to unwind. Book a peaceful journey to the rural outskirts of town, or book a flight to a nearby country for a relaxing weekend break. Perhaps there’s a museum you’ve always wanted to see, maybe you just want to get a bit of sun and relaxation, or perhaps you want to whisk you and your partner away for a romantic getaway.

Movie night

Movie nights are a fantastic way to catch up on television that you missed during the weekend. Order some fast food, load up your on-demand television service of choice and curl up with a blanket and enjoy your weekend in peace. If you want to make it even more special, consider inviting some friends over to share the experience. While it’s not as pampering as a spa weekend or holiday, it’s a lot cheaper and equally as effective!
