March Goals!

February is over and it feels like Spring is just around the corner (March 20th, guys!) I'm feeling hopeful for the rest of the year, but it's safe to say that February was not the fresh start I expected it to be!

It occurred to me, though, that I'm going about my goals all wrong. I was inspired by Jemma to ask myself "does this make me happy" when setting myself a goal. Because if it doesn't make you happy, why are you doing it?

So going forward, I'm going to be asking myself that very important question "does this make me happy" when setting all my goals. And if it doesn't make me happy? I'm not going to include it! So before we dive headfirst into my goals for March, let's take a quick look at how I got on with my February goals.

1. Get back into a daily skincare routine. Although not as consistent as I'd like it to be (if I've had a bad day, I'm liable to skip the skincare routine) I've definitely got myself back into a daily skincare routine. In therapy, we're being encouraged to get into a bedtime routine, so this is when I employ my daily skincare routine whilst watching an episode of something on Netflix.
2. Lose 5ibs. It might have helped if, at the start of the month, I'd weighed myself. Even if I went and weighed myself right now, I'd have nothing to measure it against. So I can't tell if I've lost, gained or stayed the same. Fail.
3. Put money aside for MOT and Service. I've done this, and just in time, as my MOT and Service is coming up very soon!
4. Exercise at least once a week. *Falls over laughing* Exercise? What is exercise?!
5. Buy myself flowers every week. It's amazing what a boost to my mood having fresh flowers in the house makes.

Three out of five ain't bad, I suppose. It's certainly not as good as I'd hoped for, though. But moving forward, it's time to set some goals whilst keeping in mind the very important question of "does this make me happy?" So, here are my goals for March...

1. Soak in the tub, at least, once a week. Another self-care goal. I love having a long, hot bath with some lovely bath bombs or bubble bars. I'm making it a priority this month to enjoy a bath once a week, or more!
2. Read, at least, a chapter a day. I didn't read as much as I would have liked in February, so I'm trying to get over this reading slump by reading a chapter a day!
3. Buy no more than four books in March. This year has seen me buy a hideous amount of books. All four (yes, four) of my TBR bookcases are full to bursting. I really have no more room for anymore books. There is at least one book out in March that I have on pre-order though, so I'm limiting myself to one book a week, or four in the month.
4. Put £1 in my savings every week. £1 is something I won't miss on a weekly basis but that, over the course of the year, will add up to over £50. And that's not to be sniffed at.
5. Spend less money on takeaways. This one might not make me happy, but it's more of a necessity. Most of my pay cheque goes on takeaway and it's not sustainable. This month I want to eat at home more and spend less money on takeaways.
